Nourishing From the Inside Out 🤍
Some of the most important things we do for our dogs are the things no one ever sees.
Health is woven quietly, day after day, through countless thoughtful choices. Long before a puppy takes its first steps, every meal, every nutrient, and every small decision becomes part of the foundation for a lifetime.
Golden Retrievers appear to have a unique susceptibility to taurine deficiency, making taurine an important nutritional consideration for the breed. Taurine supports healthy heart function and many other essential processes throughout the body.
Emerging research is also uncovering the remarkable relationship between the gut microbiome and taurine metabolism, reminding us that wellness begins in places we cannot see.
For my own dogs, I choose a complete, balanced, grain-inclusive diet, support their gut health with a high-quality probiotic, and supplement my adult dogs with 1,000 mg of taurine daily as part of my nutritional program.
Taurine levels can be measured, allowing breeders and owners to monitor their own dogs and make informed decisions based on objective results.
The more we learn, the more I realize that excellence isn’t found in any single ingredient or supplement. It’s found in a lifetime of quiet choices, guided by science, curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to the dogs we love.
